Leader Urges Promotion of Quranic Teachings Among People

IQNA – The Leader of the Islamic Revolution has called for promotion of Quranic teachings in the society as he appreciated Quranic activities in Iran during the Ramadan.

“This year, praise be to God, the blessed month of Ramadan was truly a Quranic month. Across the entire country, thanks to your efforts—brothers from all sectors, both in the IRIB and outside of it—the hearts of the people were with the Quran,” Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Thursday while addressing a mourning session commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Sadiq (AS).

He was referring to various Quranic programs held across the country, including the popular Mahfel TV Show that was aired from IRIB TV3.

“We need this. This is exactly what our country needs—what our young people need,” he added.

“When I see young people sitting and reciting the Quran with tarteel (measured tones), or a memorizer reciting from memory, I am deeply moved with joy and gratitude—Alhamdulillah Rabb al-'Alamin (All praise is due to God, Lord of the worlds),” said Ayatollah Khamenei.

“However, when it comes to the Quran, we still have much work to do—work that must be done,” he said, adding, “We must promote the meanings of the Quran—this vast and profound ocean—among our people and those who recite it.”

The first season of Mahfel TV Show was aired in Ramadan 2023 and the following seasons in 2024 and 2025. It has been warmly welcomed by millions of viewers in Iran and other countries.

Prominent Iranian qaris Ahmad Abolqassemi and Hamed Shakernejad have been among the program’s hosts in all of the seasons aired so far.
