IQNA – The first national Quran memorization and recitation competition of Albania will kick off on Monday.

The contest will be held with the support of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance of Saudi Arabia and the religious affairs attaché of the Saudi Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Quranic event will continue until January 28, 2026, according to sra7h.com website.

Tirana, the capital of Albania, is hosting this competition, and the Department of Muslim Affairs of Albania is cooperating in organizing it.

A total of 120 girls and boys will participate in this competition, competing in the categories of memorization of two, five and ten Juzes (parts) of the Holy Quran.

A specialized committee of judges will supervise the contest and will evaluate the participants’ memorization, pronunciation, voice, tone and Tajweed.

The closing ceremony of the competition and the distribution of awards among the top performers will be held on Wednesday in the presence of a number of religious figures and officials.
