In a cultural initiative that demonstrates the importance of reviving Islamic heritage, the National Library of Albania has displayed one of the rare treasures of its oriental collection on the occasion of the Sultan Nowruz celebrations in Tirana, the capital of the country, as a seal of approval for the deep presence of Islamic intellectual heritage in the cultural space of Albania.

 

A rare manuscript containing the sayings of Imam Ali

The most prominent exhibition of the occasion is a book titled “Moon of Divan of Ali", which is one of the first copies containing the sayings of Imam Ali (AS).

This book was published in Egypt in 1255 AH (1835 AD) and is one of the first works translated from Arabic into Ottoman Turkish, reflecting the translation and cultural interaction movement in the Islamic world in the 19th century.

This manuscript is part of the “Oriental Collection” housed in the East Hall of the “Satur Kullia” Center in Tirana, which is one of the most important collections documenting the history of Oriental books and manuscripts and highlighting the scientific and cultural spread of Islamic civilization in the region.
