TEHRAN (IQNA) – The second edition of a national competition for selecting the top Quran memorizer of the year will be held in Iran in the coming weeks.

Holy Quran

There will be no age limits and both men and women can take part in the contest.

It will be organized by the Eliyeen Quran Institute, located in the city of Karaj, 30 kilometers west of Tehran.

Participants need to be memorizers of the entire Quran.

They will be asked to read selected verses of the Quran from memory to showcase their mastery and quality of memorization.

The competitors are only scored on memorization skills and mastery over Tajweed rules and not on data-x-items such as Sawt (melodious voice), Lahn (rhythm), and Waqf and Ibtida (pause and start).

The one with the highest score will be named the top Quran memorizer of the year 1400 (March 2021- March 2022).
