Japarov congratulated Mukhamadali Umarov, the memorizer of the Quran, on winning the international competition, the presidential press service reported.
He also wished Umarov good health and further success.
Umarov and his teacher Marat Erkulov said that 153 reciters from 111 countries took part in the competition last month.
The 24-year-old Umarov said he had prepared for three months, memorized all 600 pages of the Quran and was recognized as the best, overtaking participants from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and other Muslim countries.
Japarov presented Umarov with a copy of a 400-year-old Quran manuscript at the end of the meeting.
