IQNA – A senior Iranian human rights official says the besieged Gaza Strip has been turned into an “exhibition” of the Israeli regime’s crimes against humanity.

Gaza and Rafah have become a major exhibition of crimes against humanity and the crime of genocide,” Kazem Gharibabadi, secretary of Iran's High Council for Human Rights, told IQNA on Monday.

The comments come as relentless Israeli aggression on Gaza since October last year has killed more than 37,600 Palestinians, mostly women and children, injuring more than 86,000 individuals.

Over the past eight months, the Israeli regime has committed major crimes against the people of Gaza, Gharibabadi said.

“Regrettably, the backing of countries like the United States has made the regime more ruthless, leading to increased crimes against the Palestinian nation,” he said.

“The Zionist regime’s crimes do not need to be proved anymore,” he said, adding that these crimes have been widely acknowledged by global public opinion, evident in protests by American academics students and Western citizens who unanimously demand an end to the genocide in Gaza and the withdrawal of support for the regime.

The Israeli atrocities are being “clearly” seen by people worldwide, Gharibabadi said, adding that media coverage has played a crucial role in highlighting the crimes.

Now, the focus should be changes from the mere exposure of atrocities to the urgent need for international action against the regime, he stressed.

The United States and its allies should bear responsibility for the ongoing events in Gaza and Rafah, he said, adding that supporting the regime’s crimes and genocide does not safeguard their national security.

The Israeli regime is a “destabilizing” force in the region and beyond, posing a threat to international security, he said.

The rights official urged Muslim nations to unite in upholding Islamic and international human rights and stand against the regime's acts of terrorism and genocide.
