Iraqi Quran expert Noor Nizamuddin Najmeddin al-Hassani

Speaking to IQNA, Noor Nizamuddin Najmeddin al-Hassani, who served in the panel of judges in the 41st edition of the competition, said the interpretation of the Quran is an important issue, and this category, along with Quranic research, can be added to Iran’s Quran competition to make it a dynamic event and an activity in service of the Quran and understanding its meanings.

She hailed the way the contest’s final round was held in the holy city of Mashhad. “The competition is exceptionally well-organized, and from the moment we arrived at the airport, we were warmly welcomed by the event officials, making us feel comfortable and at ease. We have observed remarkable efforts by the organizing committee and various coordinating sections, which deserve appreciation.

“I pray for the continued success of the organizers and hope that the competition will continue in the coming years, bringing together reciters and memorizers from different countries around the theme of the Quran.”

She added that the Islamic Revolution of Iran has played a significant and fundamental role in realizing a Quranic revolution in the country.

“The competitions and other Quranic activities are among the achievements of this revolution, which can, in their own way, further strengthen the position of the Quran and guide people back to the primary reference and source of Islamic law.”

Al-Hassani, who served in the panel of judges as an expert in Waqf and Ibtida, was also asked about the level of the participants.

“Some perform well while others are weaker. Breathing plays a significant role in this matter and can have either a positive or negative impact on Waqf and Itida. What is important is where participants stop and from where they begin their recitation in order to earn points in the pauses and starts section.”

The International Holy Quran Competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran is annually organized by the country’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization.

The competition aims to promote the Quranic culture and values among Muslims and showcase the talents of Quran reciters and memorizers.

The final round of the 41st edition concluded in a ceremony on Friday in Mashhad, where winners in different categories were named and awarded.
