In Tehran, large crowds gathered for the annual event, which began at 10 a.m., though many participants had arrived earlier.

Demonstrators chanted slogans such as “Death to Israel” and “Death to America” as a sign of opposition to the Israeli occupation and its international supporters.

The central theme of this year’s rally was “On the Covenant, O al-Quds”, emphasizing the participants’ continued support for the Palestinian cause. The demonstrators marched along ten major routes leading to Tehran University, where Friday prayers were scheduled.

Participants carried images of resistance leaders and Palestinian symbols, highlighting their solidarity with the Palestinian people. Some demonstrators dragged symbolic coffins representing Israel and the United States, voicing their condemnation of Israeli and American aggression and oppression in the region.

A notable presence at the rally was an image of Yahya Sinwar, the late Hamas leader, displayed as a symbol of resistance. Attendees took photos alongside the image, underscoring their support for the Palestinian cause.

The main speaker at the Tehran rally is Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament. Additionally, Haniyeh Sadat Raeisi, daughter of the late Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi, and Zeinab Nasrallah, daughter of late Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, will also address the crowd in Tehran.

Quds Day, established in 1979 by the founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, is observed annually on the last Friday of Ramadan. It serves as a platform for expressing support for the Palestinian people and slamming Israeli occupation and oppression. Rallies are traditionally held in several countries.

Large rallies are held as Israel continues its attacks on Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
