The festival featured works of art about mourning the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS).
It was held along with the closing ceremony of the 4th Elites of Shia Pulpits international conference.
Mohsen Sharifinasab, an advisor to the secretary of the festival, said at the ceremony that more than 2,500 works were submitted to the secretariat of the event, nearly half of which were in the fields of poetry and elegies.
He hailed the warm reception of the festival, especially from the youths.
Narjes Manafipour, the scientific secretary of the conference also gave a report about its organization, saying that 40 papers were submitted to the secretariat from countries like Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Pakistan.
She said the papers were in Arabic, Persian and Urdu.

Later in the ceremony, winners in different categories, including poetry, elegies, short and long stories, music, podcast, poster, and typography, were awarded.
Also during the event, two books featuring the selected poems and posters of the first International Safinat al-Najat Mourning Festival were unveiled.
