IQNA – In a message ahead of Ramadan, head of Egypt’s Al-Azhar emphasized that the holy month is a great spiritual school for reviving the concepts of piety and charity.

In the message, Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb, offered his most sincere congratulations and best wishes on the holy month of Ramadan to Egyptians and the Arab and Islamic Ummah, el-Balad News reported. 

He asked God Almighty to make it a month full of goodness, blessings, security and peace for Egypt and all Islamic countries, and to restore prosperity, tranquility and stability to all humanity.

He emphasized that the month of Ramadan is a great spiritual school for reviving the concepts of piety, discipline, charity and strengthening the values ​​of kindness, solidarity and compassion.

Sheikh al-Tayeb called for taking advantage of the days and nights of Ramadan to purify the soul, purify the hearts, and expand bridges of love and peace among people.

He also expressed hope that this holy month will be a starting point for strengthening unity and rejecting division and disagreement, and renewing the covenant with God to support the truth, comfort the suffering, and help the oppressed.

In conclusion, the Al-Azhar chief asked God Almighty to protect the Islamic Ummah and prayed for security, stability, and prosperity for Muslim nations, and further progress, excellence, and growth for Egypt and all Arab and Islamic countries.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian Dar al-Ifta announced the holding of an official and popular initiative for the sighting of the crescent of Ramadan 1447 at the headquarters of the Al-Azhar Conference Center next week.

It will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, after the Maghrib prayer, and will be broadcast live on the official page of the Dar al-Ifta on Facebook.
