Quran Competition for Iraqi Kids Features Recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine is organizing a Quran contest for children aged 4 to 8.

It features recitation of the first Surah (chapter) of the Holy Quran, Surah al-Fatiha, according to Qafqn.org website.

Both girls and boys can take part in the competition, dubbed Ahbab Allah (Love of God).

They can send a recording of their recitation of the Surah with a beautiful voice and observation of the rules of recitation.

The Quran Unit of the Astan is holding the Quranic event.

The performances will be assessed by a group of Quran experts and winners will be announce and awarded in January.

The Quran contest is aimed at encouraging children to learn the Quran, especially Surah al-Fatiha.

Al-Fatiha is the first Surah of the Quran and consists of 7 verses, which are a prayer for guidance and mercy. It is recited in Muslim obligatory and voluntary prayers every day.
