TEHRAN (IQNA) – Yemen’s National Salvation Government condemned the international community’s silence in the face of the Saudi-led aggression that continues to kill Yemeni civilians.

The Yemeni officials said the coalition has intensified its air strikes on Yemen over the past two days, raising the death toll among civilians, Al-Mayadeen reported.

The officials deplored the fact that the international community and the United Nations keep their silence as these attacks continue, saying they are complicit in the Saudi-led coalition’s crimes against the people of Yemen.

The spokesman for Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement, Mohammad Abdul Salam, warned the coalition that these crimes would have dire consequences.

In the coalition’s attacks on Yemen over the past two days, some 25 civilians were killed and injured, according to head of Al-Mayadeen’s office in Sana’a.

Saudi Arabia and a number of its regional allies -- including the United Arab Emirates (UAE) -- launched a brutal war against Yemen in March 2015.

The war was launched to eliminate Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement and reinstall former Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.

The war, accompanied by a tight siege, has failed to reach its goals, but it has killed hundreds of thousands of Yemeni people.

The UN says more than 24 million Yemenis are in dire need of humanitarian aid, including 10 million suffering from extreme levels of hunger. The world body also refers to the situation in Yemen as the world's worst humanitarian crisis.

The Saudi war has also taken a heavy toll on the country’s infrastructure, destroying hospitals, schools, and factories.
