Egyptians Win All Categories in Port Said Int’l Quran Competition

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Representatives of Egypt came first in all categories of the fifth edition of the Port Said international Quran competition.

Awarding ceremony of Port Said international Quran contest

 

The competition started on Friday with the participation of representatives from 66 countries.

Winners were announced and awarded at the closing ceremony held in the port city on Tuesday, Youm7.com website reported.

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly was among the officials present at the awarding ceremony.

According to the panel of arbiters, Islam Muhammad Ahmed Rajab from the host country came first in the memorization of the Quran for men.

In the women section, Nura Ahmed Ahemd Basyuni and Asma Adil, both from Egypt, jointly won the first prize.

The top prize in the Ibtihal category also went to Omar Ahmed from Egypt.

Members of the panel of arbiters were also honored at the ceremony.

The panel was headed by Abdul Kareem Saleh from Egypt. It also included Quran experts from the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Libya and Mali.
