40 Days of National Mourning Declared in Iran
Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei was martyred in a US-Israeli attack on his office in Tehran on Saturday, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council confirmed.
In a statement early on Sunday, the Iranian Cabinet of Ministers offered condolences to Imam Zaman (may God hasten his glad advent), the noble Iranian nation and the Muslim Ummah over the great loss and declared 40 days of national mourning.
The statement praised Imam Khamenei as an example of faith, jihad and resistance who carried the flag of the front of Islam for more than 37 years with judiciousness and created a new chapter in ruling in the history of Islam with his exemplary courage and strong faith.
Ayatollah Khamenei, along with late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini, will remain in the hearts of the world’s nations forever, the statement went on to say.

It also underlined that this grave crime by the US and the Zionist regime will not go unanswered, vowing that those ordering and perpetrating this crime will regret it.
