Sheikh Abdullah al-Daqaq highlighted important issues regarding the recent developments in the country during a press conference on Wednesday, the Bahrain Studies Center reported.
The press conference was held following the intensification of the Al-Khalifa regime’s repression in the form of torture, prosecution, and revocation of citizenship of Bahraini citizens, especially scholars and preachers.
Referring to the systematic harassment of critics and their families, as well as the deprivation of defendants from fair trials, the Bahraini scholar called on human rights institutions to be more active in this regard.
Al-Daqaq considered the current situation to be indicative of the depth of the political and legal crisis in the ruling regime of Bahrain.
Accusations against top Shia cleric Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim are also completely false, he emphasized, adding that targeting such religious and national figures will only increase the resistance of the Bahraini nation.
He warned the Bahraini government that if it does not immediately reconsider its hostile actions against citizens and does not abandon the policy of exclusion and pressure, it will end up with nothing but collapse.

The director of the Islamic seminary of Bahrainis residing in Qom pointed out that the events in Bahrain and some other countries in the region are part of a targeted project led by the Zionist regime and implemented by compromisers aimed at undermining the beliefs and existence of the Shia Muslims.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Sheikh al-Daqaq appreciated the support of the noble Iraqi nation for Bahraini people and described the presence of the Bahraini opposition in international forums, especially in the UN human rights file, as effective and successful.
