World Cup 2026: Trump and FIFA president booed during trophy presentation

Iqna -U.S. President Donald Trump and FIFA President Gianni Infantino were booed by spectators as they joined Spain’s players on the field during the World Cup trophy presentation ceremony.

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, Trump and Infantino were met with jeers from fans when the U.S. president attempted to stand alongside the Spanish team during its championship celebrations.

During the match, Trump and the FIFA president were seated in a special section of the stadium in New Jersey. Also present nearby were several prominent figures, including King Felipe VI of Spain, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.

Some spectators had already booed Trump before kickoff and after the U.S. national anthem was played, when his image briefly appeared on the stadium’s giant video screens.

However, the booing intensified and echoed throughout the stadium when Trump and the FIFA president entered the field for the trophy presentation ceremony.
