Ayatollah Sistani Wishes Success for Islamic Revolution’s Leader

IQNA – The office of Iraq’s top Shia cleric Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani in a message wished success for new Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei.

“With reverence in memory of the late Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah (Seyed Ali) Khamenei (may Allah be pleased with him), it is hoped that his honorable successor (may Allah preserve him) will be successful and divinely aided in serving the great nation of Iran, repelling the harm of ill‑wishers, and safeguarding national unity and cohesion,” the message read.

Following the martyrdom of Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in a US-Israeli attack on February 28, Iran’s Assembly of Experts on March 8, 2026 elected Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei as the new Leader.

In response to the US-Israeli aggression, which also led to the martyrdom of a number of senior military commanders and hundreds of civilians, Iran launched Operation True Promise 4, carrying out massive missile and drone attacks on Israeli targets and US bases in the region.
