Iraqi PM Orders PMU to Be on High Alert
Following the increase in regional crises and the efforts of some foreign parties to drag Iraq into conflicts, the spokesperson for the Iraqi Armed Forces emphasized that the country's territorial integrity is a red line.
Sabah al-Numan said Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi, who is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, has issued orders to raise the level of alert to the highest possible level in all barracks and bases, and at the forefront of them are the official headquarters of the PMU.
The Iraqi security outlook has been put to a real and direct test due to the acceleration of regional crises, while these tensions, especially with the efforts of some foreign parties to bring the land and sky of Iraq into the equation of mutual conflict, impose heavy sovereign and field pressure, he stated.
Al-Numan, pointing out that field assessments indicate that the Iraqi military and security systems are working with the highest degree of discipline and readiness to face these consequences, stated that the stability and immunity of our internal front mainly depends on the coherence of security decisions and the integrity of its authority under the umbrella of the Supreme Command.
“Regional tensions and any abuse to disrupt internal stability are a clear violation and a continuous threat to the country's stability, especially when foreign parties launch unilateral attacks or use the Iraqi sky as a stage for their operations,” he said.

He went on to say that this threat is not limited to material damage caused by the strikes, but the main danger lies in the attempt to drag the government into the conflict.
“Our confrontation with this threat begins with establishing a fundamental principle that maintaining the security and sovereignty of Iraq is a red line that is not negotiable and cannot be negotiated with regional parties, and protecting our internal security is solely the responsibility of the country's military and security institutions.”
