“Quran in the Mirror of Art” Exhibition in Bosnia

An exhibition titled “Quran in the Mirror of Art” has been held by Iran Cultural Center in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina from August 26.



According to IQNA’s branch in Europe, the exhibition has been organized as part of the programs of the center for the Quranic week in this country.


It was opened in a ceremony with the participation of a number of intellectuals and lecturers of Sarajevo University, Seyyed Hussein Rajabi, Iranian ambassador to Bosnia, Hojat-ol-Islam Eidi, director of Mulla Sadra Foundation, Mohammad Reza Aram, Iranian cultural attaché in Sarajevo as well as a large number of Quranic, religious and cultural figures of the country.


Ghazi Khosrow Beik School in the capital city hosted the opening ceremony which was also attended by journalists and representatives of media including Sahar TV channel of Bosnia, Press TV, the staff of Iranian embassy and organizations in Bosnia and the Iranian people residing in the city.


60 artworks of Quranic verses calligraphy by Mohammad Ali Sabzekar, Iranian artist, have been displayed at the exhibition.


20 more Quranic artworks by two Bosnian artists and a collection of Quranic products of the Dar-ol-Quran of the Iranian center in Bosnian language including the first volume of Tafsir Nemuneh, Quranic magazines for teenagers and specialized publications and quarterlies on Quranic sciences have also been presented at the exhibition.


Translations and interpretations of the Holy Quran, precious Quran copies, Quranic manuscripts, software products on Islamic sciences and Quranic issues and educational Quranic software for children produced by various Iranian Quranic centers are also among the materials available at the exhibition.


The ceremony was addressed by the Iranian cultural attaché and Nosrat Isanovich, lecturer of Zenitsa University who has written “Islamic architecture in Safavid period and its influence on the architecture in Bosnia and the Balkans” and “descriptive Bibliography of Islamic Works”.


The Bosnian lecturer talked about the history of calligraphy in Iran and the role of the art in cultural relations among nations.
