Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh, Manifestation of Quranic Verses in Form of Supplication
Imam Sajjad (AS) in Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh has expressed all teachings of the religion through supplication, a religious scholar said.
Speaking to IQNA, Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Reza A’avani, deputy head of Khorshid (sun) Center, added that the book Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh is a manifestation of the Holy Quran in the form of supplication.
He said the 4th Shia Imam, Imam Sajjad (AS, like other Imams (AS), have clarified for all people the Word of God, which is guidance to humanity.
According to the expert, in order to recognize the importance of Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh, one should investigate the issue of existence and the relation between the Creator and the created.
He said when one realizes that he has been created by God , he will see that his entire existence is needs and his life depends on the fulfillment of these needs.
“When mankind learns about his creator, God, the Almighty, he will try to have a relation with this Omnipotent Creator. Now the question is how this relation should be established.”
Hojat-ol-Islam A’avani said the answer to this question is found in verse 60 of Surah Qafir “And your Lord says, ‘Call upon Me; I will respond to you’.”
He noted that through supplications one realizes that he has needs but God has no needs. “Here, man bows down to God and this obedience helps him to move toward perfection.”
The cleric elaborated on the significance of Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh in perfection of human beings, saying that Imam Sajjad has clarified all the teachings of the religion.
“Imam Sajjad (AS) was a link between God and people and the book Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh is a window to the Divine court.”
He pointed to the role of Sahifehh Sajjadiyeh in people’s everyday life, saying that everyone who acts upon the teachings of this book can be certain that he is doing the right thing at any time and in any place.
He noted that Imam Zaman (may God hasten his glad advent) emphasizes the importance of reading Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh.
Hojat-ol-Islam A’avani said that it was great Shia scholar Allameh Mohammad Taqi Majlesi who first made Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh a book for all people.
He went on to say that Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh is a style of life and a tradition, which means following the Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
He further referred to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s statements in 2007, where His Eminence urged everyone to get acquainted with spiritual stages of perfection through the teachings of Imam Sajjad in Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh.
Hojat-ol-Islam A’avani said if the youth are to be guided to the right path, they should be acquainted with Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh.
He also stressed that if the supplications of Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh are presented in international religious forums, not only Muslims but also non-Muslims will get attracted to the book.
