Milad Asheqi is representing Iran in the category of memorization of the entire Quran while Seyed Parsa Angoshtan competes in Quran recitation.
The two Iranians took part in the preliminary round that was held virtually some two weeks ago.
In this stage, Asheqi answered three questions of the panel of arbiters virtually.
Angoshtan, who is in Mecca as part of the Iranian Hajj Quranic convoy, sent a video file of his recitation to the competition.
Asheqi told IQNA that he answered all the three questions perfectly and that he is very likely to be among the contenders qualifying to compete in the final round.
Given the skills and high level of Iranian qaris and memorizers, they usually pass the qualification rounds easily, he noted.
Asheqi, who has the experience of competing in international Quran contests in Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates, said he has obtained some information about the Turkish international Quranic event.
Noting that the competition will be held in October, he said he has enough time to practice and get prepared for it.
