The Mufti of the Central Muslim Administration of the Volgograd Region of Russia emphasized the efforts of martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei to promote proximity among Islamic Schools of Thought.
Speaking in an interview with IQNA, Sheikh Kaffah Mohammad Bata al-Husseini referred to the guidelines of the martyred on Islamic proximity and unity and said Ayatollah Khamenei paid special attention to this issue and was a herald and pioneer of Islamic proximity beyond a thought and as a school of thought.
He made the remarks on the sidelines of the farewell ceremony for the martyred Leader in Tehran.
The martyred Leader’s thinking about Islamic unity and the proximity of denominations was not just a thought; it was a complete school of thought on this path; because we all believe in the religion of Islam; we worship God and we have the same Quran and Prophet (PBUH), he said.
Many of the sacred things are the same among all Muslims and there is no difference in them, and this is not just a thought; it is a school of thought and it should not remain just a school of thought; rather it should be followed as a command and law among Muslims, he added.
The cleric noted that the martyred Leader paid special attention to Islamic unity and worked for the unity and integrity of the ranks of Muslims and put it into practice in the field.
“The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Thought is the result of this thinking; a forum that has held conferences in different countries with the presence of Muslim scholars and has made a significant contribution to the unity of the scholars and sects of the Islamic Ummah.”
Sheikh Bata al-Husseini added that such efforts have united Muslims more than anything else and caused them to put aside differences. “This was the school of the martyred Leader that all Muslims should strive to spread, a school that is accepted by most Muslims; because different sects and groups of Muslims have always loved unity and the martyred Leader is considered a successful model in this regard.”
In response to a question about the late Leader’s emphasis on prohibition of insulting the sanctities of religious sects, he said the principle of proximity is based on not insulting the sanctities of Islamic sects, and the martyred Leader moved on this basis and worked to institutionalize what brings Muslims closer to each other; therefore, all Muslims are interested in his thought and consider respecting the sanctities of all sects.
