TEHRAN (IQNA) – Mankind needs activity and work to earn money for having a life full of peace and comfort. The Holy Quran has invited human beings to trades in which there are no losses and which lead them to everlasting peace.

Surah Fatir

Fatir is the name of the 35th chapter of the Holy Quran. It has 45 verses and is in the 22nd Juz. Fatir, which is Makki, is the 43rd Surah revealed to the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Its name comes from the word Fatir in the first verse of the Surah. Fatir means the Creator of heavens and earth. It is also said to mean creation without any precedence and previous examples. Some have translated it as innovative creation or invention.

Surah Fatir warns people against being deceived by worldly affairs and temptations of Satan. It describes people as needy and God as being in no need.

In order for people to know God and be thankful to Him, the Surah enumerates some blessings given to people by God, including rain, choosing a spouse, and the existence of two seas, one salty and one with fresh water being next to one another.

It also talks about the issue of resurrection, some aspects of the Day of Judgment, and the disbelievers’ regret and their desire to return to this world to make up for their wrongdoing.

In some of its verses, reciting the Quran, saying prayers, and giving alms have been referred to as trades that entail no losses.

The content of Surah Fatir can be divided into five parts:

A major part of the verses are about the signs of greatness of God in the universe and the reasons for Tawheed (monotheism).

Another part discusses God’s Tadbir (running the world) and creation of man from dirt and stages of his growth.

A part of the Surah is about resurrection and the outcomes in the hereafter of our deeds in this world.

Some verses refer to the leadership of the prophets of God and their continuous struggle against stubborn enemies.

And a part of the verses mention divine warnings and instructions in different areas that are complimentary to previous sections.
