TEHRAN (IQNA) – One of the stories mentioned in different Surahs of the Quran is that of Prophet Moses (AS). Surah Taha is one of the chapters of the Holy Book in which the story of Moses (AS) is narrated and one can see the leadership and management strategy of this divine prophet, especially when confronting the pharaoh.

Surah Taha

The 20th chapter of the Holy Quran is Surah Taha. It has 135 verses and is in the 16th Juz of the Quran. It is a Makki chapter and the 45th Surah revealed to the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

A large part of Surah Taha refers to the story of Prophet Moses (AS) and his brother Harun (Aaron). It also mentions the story of Hazrat Adam (AS) and his banishment from paradise.

Creation, Resurrection, belief in Tawhid (monotheism), emphasis on moderation in everything and reference to the greatness of the Quran and some attributes of God are among other issues mentioned in this Surah.

Surah Taha narrates the story of Prophet Moses (AS) from a different aspect than other chapters as it mostly highlights his leadership and management strategies.

The first point in his leadership and management is seeking help from God: “Moses said, ‘Lord, expand my chest, and ease my task for me.’” (Verses 25-26)

The second point is trying to find out one’s weaknesses and strengths, which is important in management and leadership: “And loose the knot from my tongue, so that they may understand me.” (Verses 27-28)

Here Moses (AS) asks God to help make his speech comprehensible for everyone and effective.

In his leadership and management, team work is also very important. Moses (AS) chooses his brother Harun for teamwork as he is aware of his capabilities and competences.
