Islamic Book-Reading Contest Planned in Sweden

A book-reading contest on Islamic Mysticism will be held on the occasion of Eid Al-Ghadir on October 24 at Imam Ali (AS) Islamic Center in Sweden.



According to IQNA’s branch in Europe, the center announced that the competition has been planned to promote the culture of book-reading and introduce Islamic mysticism.


A book entitled “Självkännedom” (theology) by Mohammad Shomali, philosopher and author, has been selected as the source of the contest.


The author has got his PhD degree from university of Tehran and Manchester and has written a number of books on Islamic ethics and mysticism in English language.


The book introduces human as the successor of God on earth based on the verses of the Holy Quran and Hadiths.


Zahra Zahed has translated the book into Swedish language.


The contest has been planned for those aged 15 to 30 and top participant will be awarded Umrah pilgrimage by the European Noor Agency.


It will be held in written form at 7:30 p.m. local time at Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his glad advent) School of the Islamic center.
