Themed “From Andalucia to Putrajaya”, the festival features an exhibition which will give visitors a glimpse of the Golden Ages of Islam during the height of the Islamic civilisation in Andalucia, Spain.
Besides Malaysia and Spain, this year’s festival will include the participation of Indonesia, Morocco, Egypt and Iran.
The International Conference of Architecture and Built Environment: Defining the Concept of Islamic Architecture and Built Environment, will also be held, organised in partnership with the International Islamic University of Malaysia’s Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design.
Other activities include the Islamic Arts Exhibition and Auction featuring 60 paintings and installations, International Islamic Film Screenings, Putrajaya International Islamic Forum featuring 10 world-renowned speakers sharing their views on global moderation and Islamic economy, and a souq (Arabic word for bazaar) with 50 traders offering products and services related to arts and crafts, lifestyle, fashion, and general knowledge.
The grand finale will be an Islamic concert called “The Journey of Nur” on Nov 9 at 9pm. The local and international artistes slated to perform include Maher Zain, Opick, Zain Bhikha, Reaf, M. Nasir, Ramli Sarip, Raihan and In-Team.
The 10-day event will be open from 10am to 10pm daily. Admission is free.
