Commitment to Values Enhances Islamic Republic’s Invulnerability

Speaking in a meeting with the country’s Friday prayers leaders on Monday, September 9, Imam Khamenei said the Islamic Republic of Iran was a Fath al-Futuh in the confrontation between the materialistic world and Islam.

His Eminence added that the Fath al-Futuh still continues powerfully and that cohesion in the country and commitment to values and principles will strengthen it and make it more invulnerable.

The Supreme Leader elaborated on the West’s confrontation with the foundations of Islam in the past few centuries, and how the victory of the Islamic Revolution worked as a turning point against the onslaughts.

“The West in the era of colonialism developed its economic, political and cultural dominance on the orient, including the Muslim world and spread the idea that the West, because of its scientific and technological progress, is the role model and the center of all calculations.”

Imam Khamenei noted that they even changed geographical calculations based on the assumption of the West’s superiority and invented inaccurate terms such as the Middle East, Near East and Far East.

His Eminence noted that while all the countries of the region, including Iran, were under the dominance of the West and the materialistic world, the Islamic Revolution of Iran achieved victory based on full independence and commitment to the principles of Islam and the Quran, thus dealing a strong blow to the West’s structure.

The Supreme Leader said that the conditions of the region and the Muslim world now are such that the West thinks it has fallen behind in its confrontation with the Islamic Revolution’s line of thought and that is why Western countries have mobilized all their capabilities to make up for it.

“It was under such conditions that the Islamic Awakening started in the region and the West entered the scene frantically to fight the Islamic Awakening and the political Islam.”

His Eminence referred to lying and pretention as some characteristics of Western governments, saying that they do not feel regret for the Hiroshima massacre, the killing of millions of human being sin the first and second world wars, and the killing of innocent people in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iraq, and that they will have no qualms about killing human beings in the future whenever it serves their interests, either.

Elsewhere in his statements, Imam Khamenei underscored the significance of Friday prayers, describing Friday prayers as a valuable religious, popular and governmental network.

The Supreme Leader urged that Friday prayers sermons should foster hope and strengthen the people’s relation with the Islamic Establishment.

His Eminence also underlined that one of the issue that should be paid significant attention to in Friday prayers sermons is the issue of Islamic lifestyle.

Prior to the Supreme Leader’s statements, head of the Friday Prayer Leaders’ Policymaking Council Hojat-ol-Islam Taqavi presented a report about organizing the 22nd gathering of the country’s Friday prayers leaders.

He said Friday prayers are held in 750 locations across the country every week, adding that the Friday prayers leaders work to strengthen unity in the country, clarify the establishment’s polices in cultural, political and economic fields, and help to spread spirituality and religious values in society.
