Bahraini FM Repeats Claims against Iran, Hezbollah
Bahrain’s Foreign Minister in an address to UN General Assembly repeated baseless assertions against Iran and Hezbollah.
Khalid Bin Ahmed al-Khalifa in his speech claimed that Iran is interfering in the internal affairs of the countries of the region, Rusiya Al-Yawm website reported.
He also stressed that Hezbollah’s name should be added to the list of terrorist organizations (!)
On the situation in Egypt he said Bahrain supports the Egyptian government’s attempts to ensure security in the country.
The Al Khalifa regime, with support from Saudi Arabia and emboldened by the world community’s silence, has been repressing the popular protests against the regime for the past two years.
In order to divert attentions from the severe crackdown on people in Bahrain, the regime has resorted to accusing Iran of supporting the opposition.
