Imam Khamenei Condoles over Iranian Cleric’s Passing
Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei has expressed condolences on the demise of Iranian cleric Sheikh Mostafa Rahnama.
In a message on Wednesday, Imam Khamenei said the pious cleric’s tireless efforts in supporting the cause of Palestine through writing and intellectual campaigning have imprinted a unique and admirable image of him on the minds of those who knew the modest and indefatigable clergyman.
In a separate message, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani also expressed condolences on the cleric’s passing, describing him as a pioneer and advocate of the Palestinian cause.
He said that the cleric spent his life fighting against oppression and disseminating the ideals of the Islamic Republic of Iran, adding his numerous social and scientific contributions will continue to make a difference.
Sheikh Mostafa Rahnama championed the cause of Palestine from an early age. He penned numerous books and articles on Palestine and the issues facing the Islamic world.
The cleric passed away on September 28 at the age of 87.
