Lebanon’s parliament speaker said the case of Imam Musa Sadr and his companions would only close once the truth about their disappearance is disclosed.

Speaking on the 35th anniversary of the disappearance of Imam Musa Sadr, Muhammad Yaqub and Abbas Badreddin in Libya, Nabih Berri hoped that Lebanon and Libya will come to a solution to shed light on the fate of Sadr, Al-Manar website reported.

He said there have been conspiracies among some of the Libyan officials to conceal the truth about what happened to Sadr and his companions.

Berri stressed that Lebanon is waiting for transparent answers from Libyan officials about the case and seeks investigations from those informed about it.

Sadr, Yaqub and Badreddin disappeared in Libya during a visit to the country in August 1978.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Berri talked about the crisis in Syria and its impact on Lebanon as well as the recent bombings in the country and the role of the resistance movement in protecting the Lebanese borders.
