Imam Sadeq (AS) created a cultural revolution through developing Islamic teachings and religious sciences, Mashhad’s Friday prayers leader said.

Speaking at a session in Rezvan Mosque in Mashhad on Monday, September 2, Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Alamolhoda added that as a result of the Imam’s (AS) cultural revolution, Basirat (insight) spread in the Islamic society.

He noted that the cultural revolution and laying the foundations for political insight began by Imam Baqer (AS) and continued by the next Imam (AS).

Ayatollah Alamolhoda also underlined that Imam Sadeq’s (AS) political moves were based on a political plan.

He added that the Infallible Imam (AS) did not remain silent over the injustices of the oppressive rulers and refused to choose isolation in the world of politics.

The senior cleric referred to the harassments against the Imam (AS) by the rulers of the time and said these harassments and attempts to kill the Imam (AS) were because of his political stances against oppression and injustices.

Monday, September 2, concurrent with the 25th day of Shawwal on the Hijri lunar calendar marked the anniversary of Imam Sadeq’s (AS) martyrdom.
