The Quran reciters who are sent to Hajj as in the country’s Quranic convoy should act in a way that promotes the Shia culture.

This is according to internationally-known Iranian Quran reciter Mahmoud Latifinia who also told IQNA that the Noor Quranic convoy made up of Iranian Quran reciters, memorizers and Tawasheeh groups should work to dispel the negative propaganda against Iran and Shias.

He said if the members of the convoy act according to the spiritual objectives of the hajj pilgrimage trip, they would shed light on the fact that Quran has a sublime status in Iran and among Shia Muslims.

Lotfinia stressed that a lot of care is needed in selecting reciters and memorizers who go to Hajj, saying that the convoy should demonstrate the Quranic talents of Iranians.

He said the current method of selecting members of the Noor Convoy is a good one as top reciters and memorizers are invited from all provinces of the country to show their talents and then they are shortlisted after their performance is assessed by a jury panel so that the best reciters and memorizers are chosen.

The Quran master further said that the Hajj pilgrimage can best evaluate the performance of the Noor Convoy.
