Imam Khamenei issued the message on Thursday, September 26, on the occasion of the Holy Defense Week and the Day of Honoring Martyrs and War Veterans, the website of the Supreme Leader’s Office reported.
His Eminence underlined that the Iranian nation conquered the peaks of dignity and opened its way to a bright future through the self-sacrifice of the martyrs and steadfastness of the POWs and wounded war veterans and the selflessness and magnanimity of their families.
The Supreme Leader also underlined that commemorating the martyrs and honoring their names is an honor for the nation that has raised such laudable characters.
Imam Khamenei’s message was read out by Hojat-ol-Islam Shahidi-Mahalati, Supreme Leader’s representative in the Martyrs and War Veterans Foundation, during a ceremony held at Behest Zahra Cemetery in Tehran.
