A group of Islamophobes opened fire at Muslim worshippers in the city of Val-d'Oise, in the northern suburbs of Paris.

The attack took place in a mosque in the Villiers-sur-Bel district on Friday, October 4, ajib website reported.

The attackers shot at Muslims at around 2 P.M. local time as the Friday prayers worshippers were leaving the mosque.

Three individuals, a father and his two sons, were wounded in the Islamophobic incident. One of the wounded is reported to be in critical conditions.

The governor of the region has ordered an investigating into the attack to identify the perpetrators and their incentive.

He has said that the wounded are given special care to ensure they will get well soon.

With a Muslim population of around 6 million, France is home to the largest Muslim minority in Western Europe.

The number of Isalmophobic attacks has been on the rise in the country in recent months.
