Head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization said some 7 million Iranians are waiting in line to go on Umrah (minor Hajj) pilgrimage.

Saeed Ohadi, who is in the holy city of Makkah, made the remark in an interview with IQNA, adding that this year’s Umrah season will begin in December.

He said the duration of Umrah trip this year is two days shorter than previous years, adding that the trip will last ten days, five days in Medina and five in Makkah.

Ohadi said he had a meeting with Saudi deputy Hajj minister Issa Rouas in which it was agreed that 750 Iranians make the Umrah pilgrimage this year.

He noted that 95 percent of Iranian Hajj pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj and that the last batch of Iranian Hajjis will leave for Jeddah on Wednesday.

The official went on to say that two batches of war veterans have been sent to Hajj this year and that all of them are in full health.
