Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon said Iran’s interaction with the US does not mean abandoning the values and principles of the Islamic Establishment.

Speaking to Al-Safir daily, Ghazanfar Roknabadi added that Iran is assessing the United States’ good will following the interactions made on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

He also said that Iran’s support for the Syrian nation and government continues, stressing that cooperation between the two countries is based on the bilateral agreement.

Asked about support for Hezbollah, Roknabadi said Hezbollah, like Syria, is a pillar of resistance and support for it will continue.

On Bahrain, the Iranian ambassador said the Islamic Republic of Iran does not interfere in the country but supports the legitimate rights of nations, be it in Bahrain, Lebanon or Palestine.

He stressed that relations with Persian Gulf states, Muslim countries and Non-Aligned Movement countries are among the priorities of Iran’s foreign policy.
